Ms.Vilasini Diwakar
Academic Director

 

Vilasini Diwakar has been working in the field of remedial education for children with Specific Learning Difficulties for the past 20 years.
Her repertoire of skills include remediating Primary students using multi-sensory methods based on Orton Gillingham approach & tutoring senior secondary students for the NIOS exams. She is a post graduate in English Literature as s pecialized in Counselling, Psychotherapy & spelling segment. She has been associated with Madras Dyslexia Association MDA since 1997. She started off as a special educator for Primary students, before becoming the coordinator of MDA in 2005. She has been a counsellor for the students and parents involved in Ananya – a full time Remediation-centre & a prestigious project of MDA. She took on the challenge of starting remediation resource rooms in mainstream schools in 2014. She has set up 40 centres in and around Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She was one of the prominent trainers of various Teacher Training Programs conducted by MDA. She is currently the academic director of Blink.

Dr.Neeraja Raghavan

Neeraja Raghavan is the Founder-Director of ThinkingTeacher. She has a doctorate degree in Chemistry from Princeton University, USA and her last position was Professor at Azim Premji University. She worked with Azim Premji Foundation for almost eight years, mainly in the field of Science teacher education, pedagogy and curriculum development. She has taught in several mainstream as well as alternative schools in India and has been the Principal of a couple of schools. She developed an Alternative Middle School Science Curriculum for SHIKSHAMITRA, Kolkata, a school for slum children, in 2007. She also developed the Middle School Science Curriculum for THE SCHOOL, Krishnamurti Foundation India, Chennai in March-May 2006, so as to suit their unique needs and ethos. Her research interests currently focus on teacher development through reflective practice.

Ms.Indrani Barua
Content Developer and Curriculum
Advisor – English

Indrani Barua has over 20 years experience in teaching English. She is a post graduate in English Literature & also holds certifications in Teaching of English (CIEFL, Hyderabad) & Communication media and public relations. She is a published author of several books, both academic and fiction. She has worked extensively in the field of playwriting, direction and translation of children’s books & has participated in various workshops on storytelling, playwriting, translation and puppetry. She is the founder member of JATAK, an organization for youth and children which stages plays. JATAK is now an established library in Santiniketan exclusively for children. She is currently a freelance author and materials producer working with reputed names like Cambridge, Tulika, etc.

Mr.Rishi Jayaram

Advisor – Arithmetic

Rishi has 11 years of experience in the field of alternative education. He spent 6 years as a teacher in Rishi Valley School and then 2 years at Sahyadri School, which are boarding schools run by the Krishnamurti Foundation India.
After completing his MBA in IIT -Lucknow, he worked in the Banking and Finance sector for 4 years, before pursuing a career in the field of education. For the past three years, Rishi has been working independently in Chennai. He loves maths & is attempting to make maths an enjoyable experience for both teachers & students. He has conducted many training programmes & workshops for mentoring Maths teachers in reputed institutions like PSBB millennium, Ramakrishna Mission, APL Global school, KC high, etc. He envisions making school education – and consequently one’s childhood – full of learning and discovery, in as joyful a manner as possible.
