3R App

3R Lab endeavours to ensure “No Child is Left Behind” due to learning difficulties in mainstream school. It is a one- on- one and group tutoring programme, conducted in well-defined learning spaces within schools, for students dealing with academic challenges in fundamental reading, writing, spelling and arithmetic. The 3R LAB project was initiated to provide affordable remedial intervention within school campus during English class hours by highly trained and qualified Teachers/Enablers.

In the due course of time, through 3R Lab research and findings it is noted around 10% of children in every mainstream school in India have reading/writing difficulties. When compared to our current population, around 38 million children across India are either identified or neglected, who otherwise needs intervention for reading, writing and comprehension to become more independent.

Understanding the magnitude and number of children who needs remedial intervention for learning difficulties and other difficulties (borderline Autism and ADHD), we have embarked on this journey to contribute and convert the 3R Labs as a research centre. With a vision of reaching to millions of children with learning difficulties. We also created virtual study modules through our 3R App which are inexpensive and nurtures individual learning levels of the child back at home.

Features
Parents would be provided with a remedial intervention package under the 3R Lab Program.

The package would consist broadly of:

1) Pre and Post Test: A Year end assessment would be undertaken by trained experts to provide detailed progress made by the students as a result of the intervention with pre and post test data.

2) Core Skills Sessions: The sessions seek to improve the students’ abilities in reading, writing, comprehension and arithmetic. VAKT Kits would be provided to the students on appropriate level basis to enhance their learning abilities.

    a) Understanding and Mediating Reading: 3R Lab aids children to learn on enhancing fundamental principles in reading through specific tools to link sound-symbol correspondence and phonological-awareness.

    Skills Acquired: Phonemic Awareness, word identification, comprehension of text, fluency, vocabulary and retention of content.

    b) Multi-Sensory Spelling: In 3R Lab children develop effective spelling learning through four different modalities such as hearing, tracing, seeing and writing using VAKT (visual-auditory-kinaesthetic-tactile) approach.

     Skills Acquired: Knowledge of Sounds, letter-sound association, study of patterns, syllables, multisensory practice and memorizing sight words through visualization.

     c) Fundamentals in Sentence Writing: Through 3R Lab it is designed to develop understanding on fundamentals of sentence writing, improve students’ individual written communication goals, enabling below-level students to progress to par-level or even above-level valuation in literacy.

      Skills Acquired: Structure ideas into sentence, writing variety of topic, verb tense in paragraph planning, expressing ideas in sequence, accuracy of sentences writing transition sentences leading into new paragraphs, proofreading practice activities and paragraph writing and error monitoring.

     d) Interventional Strategies in Math (ISM): Resource base developing and providing overview of strategies to support students through explicit and systematic instruction in significant areas of mathematical content.

      Skills Acquired: Identification of Patterns and Structure, Construct Viable Standpoints, Critique the Reasoning of Viewpoint, Understand the Problems and Endure in Solving Problems by using Suitable Tools.

3) Thinking Skills: The modules help child’s thinking capacity to adjust its own thought processes creating an intrinsic need to use intellect in solving its school and social problems. When the child strives autonomously will increase its degree of independence and will change its own perception of itself as autonomous cognitive personality.

     Skills Acquired: Cognitive functioning, Compare Structures, Find Analogy and Differences, Orientation of Space and Time, Serial Numeric Relationships, Enhance Graphical Representation Capacity.

4) Study Skills: A systematic and sequential reading instruction module, replete with learning tools, to learn and practice fundamental principles of reading, comprehension, spelling, sound symbol correspondence, phonological awareness and writing skills. Helps develop effective powerful communication abilities in school students.

5) Reading Corner: A text to speech handheld device will read out loud any story books or subject books for the student. It helps the learner by inculcating the habit of reading by easily listening to the audio narration. This also takes away the fear of books from 3R Lab students.

7) VAKT Style of Teaching: In 3R Lab children learn through VKAT style (visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic), thereby addressing an individual child’s learning style and needs.

9) Weekly Activity Report: A monthly activity report would be provided by that share the activities which have been undertaken with the students within the remedial programs.

10) Term Wise Growth Chart Update: A termly growth chart would be provided to the Parents to understand their child’s progress on various pre identified parameters posts joining the remedial program.

 

With the help of 3R App, parents can now access remedial intervention program to learn how to assist their ward in their learning process. This program is designed as an ongoing empowerment for parents, where through the 3R App they can access a host of information on the appropriate tests and guidelines to administer informal screening tests, understanding learning styles and levels of children, designing appropriate lesson plans, address specific learning and teaching challenges, measures to track progress of the children, formulating growth charts, a forum for expert advice and regular updates on developments in this field.
